Written by admin on September 12th, 2011
While I didn’t win the opportunity to take on John Edwards myself, that doesn’t change the fact that John Edwards must go. When I say “go” I mean go back to full time work in his law firm. I do not mean go back to Richmond as our Senator. Dave Nutter and I agree on some things and disagree on others, but the one thing we both believe in above all is that John Edwards must go. If you are tired of John Edward’s committee killing our 10th Ammendment protection legislation, tired of John Edward’s committee killing bills like the 72 hour posting period for the state budets before it can be voted on, then join us and help get rid of John Edwards in November. Our only chance this election cycle is for Dave Nutter to beat him on November 8. I believe Dave Nutter is the best candidate in the 21st Senate District election and hope he will be representing our district as Senator when the General Assembly opens in 2012. You can find information on Dave Nutter for Senate by clicking here.
WE WON ROANOKE!
Written by admin on August 25th, 2011
I didn’t win the opportunity to take on John Edwards as was planned for this fall, but an amazing thing happened on Tuesday. We won Roanoke. The principles I and our Tea Party stand for won the day right here at home. The opposition spent more money, had more endorsements and even had Governor McDonnell campaign for them right here in Roanoke. We still won Roanoke. I am proud of our effort and of the volunteers who worked so hard to make that happen. I strongly believe that this shows the power of the Roanoke Tea Party in the Roanoke Valley. Without them, there would have been no Tripp Godsey campaign and surely no win in Roanoke. I want to thank everyone who donated. I want to thank my mother, an avid Roanoke Tea Party member, for her relentless door knocking. Without her, we would not have won Roanoke. I want to thank my volunteer coordinator, John Brill. Without his hard work and organization skills, we would not have won Roanoke. I would like to thank my social media coordinator, Ashley Simmons. Without her daily work on facebook, we would not have won Roanoke. I would like to thank my campaign manager, Greg Aldridge. Without him, we surely would not have won Roanoke. I hope Delegate Nutter defeats John Edwards this fall and I wish him the best.
Thank You
E.C. Tripp Godsey III

YOU MAY BE IN THE 21st DISTRICT AND NOT KNOW!
Written by admin on August 23rd, 2011
We just learned and verified that many people in Roanoke were sent voter cards that say they are in the 19th district when they are actually in the 21st district. Please disregard what your card says and have the people check their list for your district information. If you tried to vote today and were turned away, go back and check the published list at your polling station. Don’t trust your voter card. It is unclear how many people are affected at this point. Polls close at 7:00pm.
PLEASE REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

This morning as our volunteers arrived at voting stations some noticed our Tripp Godsey signs were missing. If anyone saw signs being removed between 8pm Monday night and 6am this morning please notify us at 540-397-1051. Here are some specifics:
1.It was verified this morning that the missing signs had been placed originally for viewing.
2. All Tripp Godsey’s signs were removed from the following voting locations: Grandin Court Elementary, West Side, Villa Heights and Wasena. All but one or two signs were removed from the following locations: Raleigh Court #1 (Va. Heights Elementary), Washington Heights and Ruffner.
3. Missing signs were recovered from dumpsters at the following locations: Raleigh Court #1 (Va. Heights Elementary), Ruffner, West Side, Villa Heights, Washington Heights and Wasena.
4. Missing signs from Grandin Court could not be located.
5. No Dave Nutter signs were yet present at any location when Tripp’s signs were originally placed.
6. Dave Nutter signs had been placed when Tripp’s signs were discovered missing.
7. Some Dave Nutter signs were placed in locations precisely where Tripp’s signs had been removed from.
8. One sign in particular that was removed was placed by Greg Aldridge down the street from Grandin Court late Monday night. It was not located near the parking or the polling station. It had also been removed and replaced by a Dave Nutter sign by 7:30am this morning.
Again, if anyone saw anything at any of these locations, please contact us at 540-397-1051.
Thank You and don’t forget to vote for Tripp Godsey today. Polls close at 7pm.
VCDL RATES TRIPP GODSEY “VERY PRO-GUN”
Written by admin on August 21st, 2011
All around at the Roanoke Valley Gun Show exibitors and the general public were wearing Tripp Godsey stickers. That’s because he doesn’t just believe in our 2nd ammendment rights, he exercises them. Tripp shoots, hunts and is a concealed weapons permit holder. The Virginia Citizen’s Defense League rated him “Very Pro-Gun.” His opponent in the primary, Dave Nutter, was not. Click here to view ratings. Tripp takes a very bold stance on our rights as recognized by the 2nd ammendment. “I believe that the Second Amendment clearly recognizes an individual’s right to own firearms and specifically limits the government’s ability to interfere with that right. There are many reasons this was added to the Constitution. A person’s natural right to protect themselves and the reality that an unarmed citizenry almost always leads to tyranny by their government are just a couple. I will not support any attempt to limit this freedom and will fight to restore those gun rights that have already been infringed on.”
DOWN TO THE WIRE

Last week we started radio ads. Click here to listen to the radio ad. This one was produced by Greg, pictured on the left.
We also have the Campaign Office hours expanded and volunteers working around the clock thanks to our Volunteeer Coordinator, John Brill, pictured on the right.
We still need to raise $300 to fill out our budget through the primary. Please donate this weekend. Click here to donate on line.
I would like to thank everyone who has donated, volunteered, given advise and helped in so many ways so far. We still have 2 full days left.
Remember donate, vote and find! Select the donate button to the right and use the online donation feature. If you need to donate by check, the address and instructions are provided on that page as well. Second, be there to vote for Tripp on August 23rd. Third, Find five friends, neighbors or relatives that live in the 21st district and get them to vote as well. If everyone who has committed to vote for Tripp found five more people, this primary would be a landslide in Tripp’s favor.
Finally, if you have recieved one or all of the mailers from my competition please check out the link to the right called “My opponent has a proven record of voting against tax increases?” for the facts.
WHY I AM WINNING
Written by admin on August 16th, 2011This picture is a prime example of why I am winning in this primary. It doesn’t matter if your opponent has tons of endorsements from elected officials. It doesn’t matter if your opponent has 20 times more money. It doesn’t matter if your opponent is the preferred candidate of the party establishment. It doesn’t matter if all your opponent’s campaign materials tout that he has a proven record of keeping taxes low (despite the fact that he has voted for huge tax increases) If you represent the status quo, you will go.
I have an unwavering belief in my campaign promises. My opponent Dave Nutter has a legislative record that doesn’t match his campaign claims. I have the support of the Retire John Edwards Group who has spent over a year preparing to fight Edwards,
pledged to find a candidate and followed through with that pledge. My opponent has the support of many good people; none of which had a candidate to fight John Edwards in the last decade. I have the endorsement of the Roanoke Tea Party. My opponent has had the endorsement of the VEA. Which would you rather have?
I even got the Roanoke Times to finally have an honest discussion about property taxes. Read it at this link. Has my opponent done that?
One needs only to look at the dedication of my volunteers to see we are unique. My campaign manager created a funny looking campaign costume to help me get attention. One of my volunteers dressed up his truck for the same reason. Neither would do these things if there wasn’t something special going on here.
I’m Tripp Godsey. I am new. I will fight for the principles without fail. I need your vote on August 23rd
Hard-working Unapologetic Entrepreneurs
Written by admin on August 10th, 2011You can’t tell from the photo, but 45 local real estate investors came out last night. There was a great deal of networking about the properties they have for sale and rent as well as a lot of interest and questions for me. Many of the questions and much of the support were the result of the publicity we have received from the Roanoke Times about my belief that you can never truly “own” property if you must pay property taxes. Thank you Roanoke Times for helping me get the word out.
Other questions were about problems with current state laws that allow water authorities to send bills to property owners even if they are not receiving services, being forced to connect to service even if they have a perfectly functional well and septic system and utilities being able to force landlords to pay the delinquent utility bills for their tenants.
The Roanoke Tea Party has already been working on those issues and have been given commitments from Delegate Greg Habeeb from District 8, Senator Ralph Smith currently running in District 19 and my opponent, John Edwards, in Senate District 21.
I support fixing these problems 100% but many of the attendees expressed disappointment that John Edwards had made commitments to them on this issue before and nothing was done. I have not committed to action on these items simply because these voters want to hear it. I believe that these practices are wrong myself and want action taken to rectify them. John Edwards’s inaction is a prime example of why he must go and why I have decided to take on that responsibility. The status quo must go.
I am thoroughly impressed with the members of this group. They work hard, work smart, are attentive to business and customer needs and fiercely believe in free enterprise. If we had millions more like them in our country, we would not be in the predicament that we are in today. God bless them and God bless freedom. I pray we once again experience it fully in Virginia and throughout the United States.
